Do I develop and write my own questions?
An NWRG research professional will work with you to design your custom SoundStats™ program. This includes question wording, response format, and clarification on the nature of the results and analysis needed.
How many questions can I ask?
The price includes a minimum of five customized questions combined with a base survey consisting of 13 standard demographic questions. Depending on the type of questions you ask this is equivalent to approximately four to five minutes of surveying. You may include one open-end question. Additional questions may be purchased.
The questionnaire length is determined by the number of clients participating and the number of questions purchased. The length of the survey is limited to no more than 20 minutes to minimize the burden on the respondents.
How large is the sample?
The sample size is based on the geographic market(s) selected. Sample sizes statewide run from 1,200 (Oregon and Idaho) to 1,600 in Washington. Within the metro areas, sample sizes run from 400 (Portland Metro and the Treasure Valley) to 800 if you choose Puget Sound Metro region.
How is the data collected?
SoundStats™ is based on a sample of all households in your target region using random digit dial (RDD) sampling of all adults aged 18 and older. This insures that both listed and unlisted telephone households are included.
An equal number of men and women are surveyed. The same methodologically sound data collection techniques used for our custom telephone surveys are used for SoundStats™. Interviews are conducted using state-of-the technology at our 70 station computer-assisted telephone interviewing center in Boise, ID.
Who analyzes the data?
SoundStats™ data is incredibly rich. Working with NWRG’s research professionals, you can see how your results vary by:
Key demographic and socioeconomic groups (e.g., gender, age, income, ethnicity, education, family status, etc). These demographic questions are included as part of the SoundStats™ base program.
Custom segmentation questions (e.g. the way the market is defined, etc).
As a deliverable, you will receive one complete set of banner tabulations allowing you to break down results by key segments of your choosing.
Who sees my data?
While the costs of the research are shared, your results are not. Only you see the data from your specific questions. As a member, and strong supporter, of the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (CASRO), NWRG adheres to the strictest business and ethics standards.
Do I get a report?
NWRG will prepare a
Summary Report
that includes an overview of your research objectives, research methodology, analysis and interpretation of key results. We work with you to discuss the implications of the research decisions and provide appropriate conclusions and recommendations. The report is prepared in an easy to read and use format. You will be ready to make a presentation to decision-makers and disseminate the results to your company’s managers for immediate use.
