  • BS, Marketing, Oklahoma State University

Monica joined ORC-NW in 2006 as a Research Assistant after graduating from Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a Marketing major and International Business and Finance minors. Her international background and internship experience proved to be excellent preparation for a career with ORC-NW. Since joining the company she has completed our intensive training program and has been promoted to Project Management..

Monica is originally from Guatemala; therefore, she’s fluent in Spanish, which is a great benefit for NWRG. Last year, she participated in the Monster DLP (Diversity Leadership Program) and the Maximum Impact: The Influential Leader conference, in which leadership and diversity were two of the main topics.

During past years, she worked on several class projects that enhanced her personal and professional experience. Most recently, she worked on a Marketing Research project for U.S. Cellular, a super-regional wireless company, in which customers were surveyed directly to provide U.S. Cellular with the adequate information and recommendations for the research problem at hand. As their team leader, she contributed to the team by focusing on writing the report, analyzing the data using SPSS. Her team led the project to a positive outcome, by providing the OSU-Tulsa and the company's Marketing Department at Tulsa, with a well-appraised research study. At her internship with Hilti, Inc. in Spring 2006, she implemented her academic skills and knowledge, and enhanced them throughout her strong commitment to the project she worked on. The project consisted in gathering and analyzing information by using mostly Excel, Access, and software to remove duplicates from databases called FUZZY DUPES to develop a sales benchmark for potential customers based on data obtained from current accounts. She is committed to meeting deadlines as well as working in a fast-paced environment.

At ORC-NW Monica has served as Project Manager for several major projects including the 2006 King County Metro Rider / Non-Rider Survey, Valley Regional Transit Authority Community Survey, and the City of Boise Citizen Survey. These projects have allowed her to understand the contribution research makes to the success of companies. Monica brings passion for research to our company.
