An experienced consultant, Kris' business, management, and technology experience are instrumental in the successful development of research programs for each ORC-NWclient. As Vice President, she has management responsibility for ORC-NW's Seattle, WA office and directs the research design, analysis, and reporting for all projects completed in that office. In addition, she is primarily responsible for the business development activities from that office. Kris has been highly successful in building long-term client relationships with major clients such as Community Health Plan, Seattle Public Utilities, and the City of Bellevue while also identifying potential new opportunities for the company. Kris is supported by three project management staff persons and one research operations analyst..
A self-proclaimed research generalist, with extensive experience in a variety of industries, including health care, public transportation, technology, travel, finance, and public policy, she is adept at identifying and implementing the most applicable design and methodology for her clients, from on-line and telephone interviewing to intercept surveys and observational research.
In her fifteen years in the industry, Kris has worked extensively to integrate sound technology into successful market research design and implementation. In April of 1997 she designed a web-based research library/on-line data warehouse for Caltrans and Amtrak West, one of the first of its kind in the industry. The site received a second place award from Inc. Magazine, and was showcased in Inc.'s November 2000 Technology issue. As a result of her involvement over the last five years in several projects in Eastern Washington and California, and her experience in health care research, Kris has become a specialist in the design and implementation of survey instruments and sampling plans which include the nation’s growing English as a second language (ESL) population.
Kris believes using marketing research to deliver business consulting requires a deep understanding of the client's business and the internal audience. She is firmly committed to working with each NWRG client to ensure that analysis and research findings are applicable to, and usable in, each client environment. She has successfully developed research programs for many local corporate and public clients, including the City of Bellevue, the City of Seattle, C-TRAN, Community Health Plan of Washington, Expedia, Inc. Expedia.ca, Food Lifeline, Go2Net (now Onvia), Harborstone Credit Union, Link Transit, King County Metro, Port of Seattle, Premera Blue Cross, Pulsar Advertising, Shownow.com, Skytel, SonoSite, Inc., United Way of Yakima County, University of Washington Medical Center, the Washington Department of Transportation, Washington Supreme Court Commission on Gender and Justice, Washington Mutual Bank, Weyerhaeuser, and Wisconsin Lottery.
Kris is active in the Seattle Metro business and marketing research community and has served on the Puget Sound Research Forum's Board, in several positions, including serving as the organization’s first webmaster. She is currently a member of the American Marketing Association, Bellevue Downtown Association, Market Research Association, Puget Sound Research Forum, Washington Software Association, and the Women's Transportation Seminar. Kris received an award honoring her work as Editor of Northwest Research Group's newsletter - InnerView - from the Washington Press Association in 1995. Kris has presented to a number of public and private sector boards, working groups, and committees over the years, always working to ensure that the group comes away with an understanding of possible next steps and answering the all important question: "what do we do now?"
